" Remember that feeling you would get at maybe 8 or 9 years old, the night before your birthday or chistmas? You cant sleep because you are so excited, and you know something wonderful and magical is about to happen? Thats how I feel about my career as a designer every single night. I am so excited about what I do, that I literally can not sleep."
Emily is a 2012 Graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University with a BFA in Theatrical Costume Design. Most recently she was apart of the costume design team, for the Broadway production of Rodgers and Hamerstiens Cinderella, under the direction of Six time Tony Award winning Costume Designer, William Ivey Long. The most recent of which was recieved for the work done on Cinderella.
In the spring of 2012, Emily interned at the Wiliam Ivey Long studios, where she got to work on the Broadway productions Dont Dress for Dinner and Leap of Faith. She has also worked with Mr. Long during summers 2011,2012 at the 2012 Tony Honnor for Excellance in Theatre recipient, The Lost Colony.
Despite Super Storm Sandy's threats to the North East coast, in early November of 2013 Emily moved to the City that never sleeps. Since arriving with quite an entrance and caloborating on Cinderella, she has worked with Off-Broadway company Iluminate, Assistant Designed/ Wardrobe Supervised Off-Broadway Production Company New York Classical Theatre.
While in school, Emily designed and worked on numerous shows including:
Assassins, ALiCE, Rumpelstiltkin is my name, Ragtime, Stop Kiss, Peer Gynt, Marriage of Figaro, Anything Goes, Comedy of Errors
